Today I’m going to the park. Why? For no specific except to have a PICNIC. First of all, picnics are free. The only thing you have the provide is food, unless you’re good at scavenging. But let’s just not make this difficult and say to just bring some of your own food.
The park in which I’ve chosen as my victim for today’s exploration, is Blackburn. I’ve been to this park only once before and it was for approximately 5 minutes. So really it’s like I’ve never even been here before. Let’s go see if it’s a good fit for a picnic.

I found a spot! Right by an area that’s literally designated for special picnicking voyages, like mine.
I’m all settled in now. Got my blanket laid out and everything. Actually, this isn’t my blanket. Oops. Sorry Kristen. I might have just accidentally added a few sticks and crushed up leaves to your material. Not my best idea.
My phone is telling me that the current weather outside feels roughly like 91 degrees. Ouch. Why I chose to do a picnic today, no idea, but too late now.
Also the spot in which I’ve chosen to set up at, is horrible. I’ve located myself on a very indented hill and I’m slanted. Why would they put the “post oak picnic site” here?
Even with the poorly chosen locality and feeling like I’m currently on fire, I’m still enjoying my picnic. The view is just so grand I think it makes up for it all.
The field to my right looks absolutely stunning. The sun is shining on it so directly it looks as if it’s glowing. It’s kinda nice to just sit here and simply enjoy God’s creation. Very peaceful.

Alright snack time. Let’s see what we got here. A half-eaten packet of wheat Ritz crackers and a jar of Skippy’s Natural Peanut Butter. Can’t go wrong with ol’ faithful. I also snagged a cup of unsweetened, no sugar added, Simply Nature apple sauce. Wow that’s a mouthful. Oh and can’t forget, I brought my large bag of Great Value sliced almonds too. One of my all time favorite snacks. Whole almonds just aren’t as good — no lie.

What to do next. Oooo! I see a puppy. I want to take a picture, but I feel like it’s weird to just take pictures of someone else’s dog. Oops. I took one anyways. I know the guy saw me too because this entire time prior to him walking near me, I was typing. And as soon as I saw him, I instantly grabbed my camera and turned directly toward him.

This guy with the dog really lucked out today, bringing his dog here and all. Actually anyone with a pooch at Blackburn did. They literally have free doggy poop bags. What a convenience. This park is seriously great.

On the playground not too far behind me, I can hear the sounds of children deliberately screaming bloody murder. Wow. Fun! I think I’m going to go join them.
I’m at the playground and to be honest, THIS WAS A GREAT IDEA. I met some new friends named Ariana and Bella — roughly the ages of 4 and 7. They were really confused as to why I was there taking pictures of myself going down slides. Then I realized I was too. Yep time to leave.

I say Blackburn was well worth coming to today. It was all around an excellent experience. It was nice not just sitting in an apartment alone. So because of this, I’d say first adventure in avoidance of bordeom – SUCCESS! It cost me zero dollars, it was entertaining, and I made new friends.
So the next time you’re feeling jaded while chilling at home, choose not to be. I recommend you just mosey your way on down to Blackburn park. Or else find one that’s closer to you.
It was a priceless experience. Literally. (Ha get it?) Because it was free. OK I’m done goodbye.
