An. Hour. That’s all I got to spend today doing something adventurous, fun, and free. So, out of everywhere in St. Louis, where could I have possibly gone? Well you guessed it! Or you didn’t. I chose to go to the zoo.
Today consisted of me hobbling the walkways of Forest Park as fast as I could, talking to strangers, while trying to see as many animals as possible. You could even have confused me with a creature had you seen me there. I was running up and down, all over the place ramped.
It was a nonstop sprint from mammal to mammal. I didn’t even get to the aquatic animals, due to my time limitation. I did however, get to go inside the butterfly wing. AMAZING. If you’ve never experienced a building of just insects hovering around you, you must add it to your bucket list. It was so enchanting and euphoric. You don’t want to miss out on a magical experience as such.

I mean I literally couldn’t stop taking pictures. It was magnificent.
This zoo also had a theme going on for halloween. It was for sure extra, but it most definitely enhanced my experience.
While there, I also noticed a sign on this rock. It told me “Go With the Flow”. I actually really appreciated that. Didn’t know chunks of limestone could be so darn inspiring. Not only was this zoo spunky and creatively decorated, it was also a place in which was motivating.
I also came across one of the jolliest elephants in which I’d ever seen. This lil’ guy loved himself some attention. He was thriving in the spotlight, jiggling pieces of himself to and fro. Not only was I enjoying this zoo at this point, but it seemed as if this cutie really was too.
Oh and I went to some other exhibits as well. I’m for real when I sprinted. I wanted to see as much as possible.

To be honest, now that I’m typing this, I have no idea what these animal’s names actually are. This one above is a hippo, OBVIOUSLY. But besides that, theres not a chance of me remembering.

So here we have big a gerbil.

Black bear. Duh.

Dog/cat mix type animal. Maybe a hyena, I’m not sure.

I met this guy named Henry there too. Or at least I think his name was Henry. He taught me a lot about how to spot camouflaged bugs and why bees are important to our world. Henry was so smart and cool. I was thoroughly impressed with his intellectuality. I had no idea bees weren’t the only thing that pollenated the planet. He told me hummingbirds and moths were apart of that process too. What a nice man. I’d give him a high-five if I saw him again.
As one could tell, the zoo and I had a great time together. I could go on and on about the animals and all that I saw there.
The experience I had at the zoo was sweaty, tiring, and mystical, but I’d still go again. I say this experience was a 7/10. It was free, so thats plus 5 right there. And there was so much to do because I couldn’t even make it through in an hour, so plus 2. To all the college students looking for something to do outside on a nice day, choose the zoo. The only thing you’ll have to bring is yourself and of course, a good attitude. But you’ll need more than an hour if you really want to look through everything precisely. Go to the zoo.
